ShiftChef is an on-demand platform connecting restaurants and catering companies with vetted professional chefs for short-term shifts. The challenge was classic two-sided marketplace design: the platform needed to speak to two completely different audiences — restaurant operators who need reliability and speed, and professional chefs who need flexibility and fair pay — while building trust with both simultaneously. Level Nine Media designed the brand identity, built the marketing website, and architected the UX flow for both user types.
Launching a two-sided marketplace is one of the hardest problems in product design. ShiftChef needed to solve the chicken-and-egg problem: restaurants won't sign up without chefs, and chefs won't sign up without restaurants. The brand and website needed to make both sides feel like the platform was built specifically for them.

The visual identity uses a bold, modern aesthetic that feels premium enough for high-end restaurants but approachable enough for independent chefs. The website features dual conversion paths — one optimized for restaurant operators, one for culinary professionals — with separate landing sections, testimonials, and CTAs for each audience.
